UW-Barron County offers students an opportunity to earn an AAS Degree with a specific area of Emphasis. An Emphasis is a concentration of coursework in a given discipline or area of study. Completing your AAS Degree with an area of Emphasis is not a requirement; rather, it is an option for you to enhance your overall general studies associate degree.
As you consider selecting an area of Emphasis please remember two items:
--Bachelor's degree programs into which you can transfer are not limited to this set of Emphases. The AAS degree is an excellent start toward most any four-year major.
--Careful transfer planning is still important and necessary beyond completing requirements for an Emphasis.
AAS Degree with Emphasis Programs available at UW-BC are listed below. Click on the appropriate discipline to see Emphasis requirements.
Please print out the worksheet and mark completed coursework as you progress. This worksheet needs to be submitted along with the Application for AAS Degree form by the last day of class - one semester prior to graduation. (If you are graduating in May, submit the application the previous December and if you are graduating in December, submit the application the previous May.)
