In addition to teaching the classes listed above, and being part of the Wisconsin Entrepreneurial Network (WEN), Professor Konell has done professional presentations around the United States and overseas. He has presented professional papers in Oxford, England (Oxford University); Florence, Italy; Larissa, Greece; and Rhodes, Greece. In 2007, he was part of a U.S. Department of Education Tour for business professors from universities across America to the main industrial centers in China: Shanghai, the Pearl River Delta, and Hong Kong. In the fall semester of 2008 he was a member of the Fulbright Scholar Exchange Program to Yalta University of Management and the Crimean State University of the Humanities in Yalta, Ukraine.
In 2012, Professor Konell was part of a U.S. Department of Education CIBER (Center for International Business Education and Research) tour which included 25 business professors from universities across America to experience Vietnam. The two week program focused on the unique aspects of doing business in Vietnam, comparing and contrasting the business environments of Ho Chi Ming City (Saigon) and Hanoi.
In July 2013 he attended the Faculty Development in International Entrepreneurship conference in Istanbul, Turkey, hosted by the CIBER (Center for International Business Education and Research) of the University of Colorado-Denver and Ozyegin University in Istanbul. The conference consisted of 30 university professors from 12 countries. He also had a paper accepted for presentation at the International Academy of Business and Public Administration Disciplines in Istanbul during the same time period.
