The public is invited to attend an open house marking the retirement and celebrating the accomplishments of former UW-Barron County Dean Paul W. Chase.
The celebration will take place on Saturday, Jan. 25 from 6:00 – 8:30 p.m. in the campus Commons. A short program is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. A table will be set up that will feature memorabilia highlighting his career and well-wishers will be able to fill out a sentiment card that will be included in a memory book custom-made for Dean Chase.
Hors d’oeuvres will be served at the event and a cash bar will be available.
In lieu of gifts, event attendees will be able to donate to the newly formed Paul W. Chase Campus Initiatives Fund. This fund is being established to honor Dean Chase and his UW-Barron County legacy and to support special campus educational initiatives.
Dean Chase, who retired at the end of 2013, had been CEO/dean of UW-Barron County since 1997. Originally from Ashland, he spent 19 years in administration at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Stony Brook before returning to Wisconsin to head UW-Barron County.
