Early morning yoga classes for those new to yoga or who have practiced a few times with a teacher or video are now being offered at UW-Barron County.
The class for beginners is offered on Thursdays starting March 27 and continues through May 8 (7 sessions) from 6:00 - 7:00 a.m. The class will introduce the beginning student to yoga stretches and postures to increase flexibility, strength, endurance, poise, and balance. Emphasis will be placed on yogic breathing to build focus and concentration and to unite the body, mind, and spirit. Each class will offer an opportunity to move the muscles, juice all the joints, and balance the body front and back, side to side. Particular attention will be paid to alignment. Additionally, deep, relaxing, calming breath work will be introduced to help with concentration.
Modifications will be offered for students with experience. Please be sure to bring a yoga mat, blocks if you have them, and a water bottle to each class. Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher Patty McGown will be your instructor.
