The UW-Madison Wind Ensemble and the Wisconsin Brass Quintet will present a free concert on Tuesday, February 25 at 7:30 pm in the Fine Arts Theatre at the University of Wisconsin-Barron County in Rice Lake.
Under the direction of Scott Teeple, the Wind Ensemble is a select group of student musicians who play outstanding music written especially for a small band. The UW-Madison Wind Ensemble’s program will include Above and Beyond by Gerard Schwarz, Amazing Grace by Frank Tichelli, Lincolnshire Posy by Percy Grainger, Suite in E -flat by Gustav Holst, Avelynn’s Lullaby by Joel Pucket, and the March from Symphonie Metamorphosis by Paul Hindemith.
Also on the program is the Wisconsin Brass Quintet comprised of UW-Madison faculty members John Aley on trumpet, Jessica Jensen on trumpet, Daniel Grabois on French horn, Mark Hetzler on trombone, and John Stevens on tuba.
All ages are welcome to this free concert which will showcase some of Wisconsin’s outstanding performers. The Rice Lake concert is part of the group’s four-day tour of Western Wisconsin and Eastern Minnesota.
