Current program or major: Social Work

Why did you choose UW-Barron County? I wanted to live at home and save money.   

What surprised you the most about UW-Barron County when you arrived on campus? The care of faculty and staff. 

Why did you choose your program/major? I had a summer job that had me dealing closely with the public and environment. I really enjoyed helping and educating the public on laws and ways to improve our environment.

What are you learning about your career field that you find interesting or rewarding? Helping families and the public to get back on their feet and succeed in the community. 

In addition to being a college student, what takes up your free time? I am President of UW-Barron County Student Government Association, the Outdoor Recreation Conservation Club and the Dark Room Photography Club. I enjoy hiking, cooking, hunting, fishing, and downhill and cross-country skiing.

Who has been your favorite professor or staff member?  All the faculty and staff at UW-Barron County have been wonderful. I couldn’t possibly pick a favorite. 

What do you plan to do after UW-Barron County? Transfer to UW-Eau Claire and earn my master’s degree in social work. 

What is one piece of advice you have for incoming UW-Barron County students?  Get involved in a club. Sign up and just see where it takes you.
