Th@U to Feature Talk on Jobs in Barron County


The next Thursdays @ the U lecture presentation will feature Scot Hodek and Dave Armstrong on February 20. This presentation will be held from 12:30 – 1:20 p.m. in the Blue Hills Lecture Hall at UW-Barron County in Rice Lake.  All series presentations are open to the public free of charge. 

Hodek and Armstrong will speak on Skills for Today/Trends for the Future of Work in Barron County. In this tandem presentation, Hodek, Department of Workforce Development Regional Economist, will discuss the current labor market and employment data; while Dave Armstrong, Barron County Economic Development Corporation Executive Director, will speak about the 2013 Barron County Skills Gap Survey which identifies county and regional employer needs and employment trends. 

The next Thursdays @ the U presentation will be on February 27 featuring Mike Carney of the UW-Eau Claire Chemistry Department speaking on Undergraduate Research with an Industrial Sponsor: Challenges and Opportunities.
