The next Thursdays @ the U lecture on April 3 will feature author Quentin Vieregge, UW-BC Assistant Professor of English. This presentation will be held from 12:30 – 1:20 p.m. in the Blue Hills Lecture Hall at UW-Barron County in Rice Lake. All series presentations are open to the public free of charge.
Dr. Vieregge will talk about a five year qualitative study conducted to study how writing programs can balance the need for a shared curriculum with the importance of teacher autonomy. He will discuss how social networking and peer production tools can offer new ways to meet both objectives. This qualitative study was published in his co-written book ,Agency in the Age of Peer Production, co-written by Kyle Stedman, Taylor Mitchell, and Joe Moxley.
Dr. Vieregge joined the UW-BC faculty in 2011 and teaches a variety of English courses including Composition I and 2, Business Communication, Special Topics in First-Year English and Film Studies. He earned a B.A. and an M.A.s from Texas Tech University and a Ph.D. from the University of South Florida.
