About

I am very pleased to be a faculty member here at UW-BC. My background includes teaching high school through university and tutoring all ages and levels of mathematics. I have worked with students who struggle with mathematics. I like to share my enthusiasm for mathematics with my students. I try to help students learn and enjoy mathematics in a positive environment.

My research pursuits are in the area of teaching and learning of mathematics. I am currently working on SoTL (The Scholarship of Teaching and Learning) research centered on diversity and where students struggle with mathematics (threshold concepts). I have conducted two Lesson Study projects at UW-BC. Previous research includes assessing action research as part of a Master's program in mathematics and improving attitudes and achievement in high school algebra.
