About

After 19 years working in administration at the State University of New York at Stony Brook (18,000 students, 100 buildings), I came to UW-Barron County as Dean in 1997. It is true pleasure to be back in northern Wisconsin. I was born in Ashland, grew up there, and attended Northland College. I studied at Heidelberg University in my junior year and later was at the Free University of Berlin on a Fulbright Fellowship during my doctoral program. I maintain contact with friends in Germany and remain very interested in German affairs. I live in an old farmhouse outside of town, and the property has a distinctive eight-sided machine shed with a granary attached. I love to read, listen to music, kayak, and cross-country ski. Despite my long sojourn in New York, I remain an avid Packer and Brewer fan.
