Wouldn’t it feel good to do something for the environment with things you already have right at home? Then put your crocheting skills to good use and take all those plastic shopping bags you have in your closet or a friend’s closet to make an upcycled “green” bag that will last for years to come! They make a great swim bag, tote bag, work bag, picnic bag, or market bag. You will learn how to cut the bags in a couple of different ways for making the body of the bag and the handles. After your bag is complete, we will learn how to create the flower decoration for the finishing touch. Your instructor is Kristi Pedersen. Kristi teaches 2nd grade in the Barron school district and she has been making these bags for the past several years. Kristi loves to crochet, knit and discover new creative ideas. Please bring: Scissors, Crochet hook – size J or K, 50 Plastic bags – grocery size. To create a pattern, bring 40 of one color and 10 of a different color. Participant may bring additional colors. Color bags are used to create stripes in the pattern.
