Severe Weather & Class Cancellations

Should UW-BC be forced to cancel classes due to snow conditions, an alert will be issued over the eAlert Emergency Notification System. When an eAlert is issued (be it for weather related campus closings or safety emergency), the system will automatically send a notification to all campus email addresses (students, faculty and staff). Anyone with a cell number in PRISM will also receive a text. Click here for more information on opting in or out of the text notification system.

Course cancellation announcements will also be broadcast on the following Rice Lake stations:

  • WJMC (96.1 FM)
  • WAQE (97.7 FM)
  • WKFX (99.1 FM)
  • WAQE (1090 AM)
  • WJMC (1240 AM)

You may also find out about class cancellations by calling our main campus phone number at 715-234-8176. The usual greeting would be replaced with a message announcing any course cancellations.

Class cancellations are a rare occurrence at UW-BC, so be sure to check rather than assume that classes have been cancelled.
